Short-term stays (Couple of weeks)
- Support the local economy. Eat local, promote businesses and campgrounds on social, and leave helpful reviews.
- Look for small ways to give back. Ask locals how to help, donate to community fridges, or join a one-off volunteer event.
Longer-term stays
- Act like residents. Find local communities via Reddit and Instagram, join rec leagues, attend meetups, and vote where weāre based.
- Initiating connections can feel awkward, especially when explaining our camper life.
Meeting our neighbors
- Mixed experiences. Some connections happen easily, others not at all, and itās hard to read interest.
- When it clicks, it really clicks. Weāve built great neighbor relationships, and even short stays can turn into meaningful conversations.
