Zoom and Zoomies
Two lesbians, three cats, and one very needy dog decided to trade square footage for freedom. Zoom and Zoomies is our behind-the-scenes look at camper life, remote work, and the chaos of full-time travel with pets.
Each week, we share stories, tips, and âwhat were we thinking?â moments as we figure out life on the roadâStarlink hiccups, packing fails, and all.
Whether youâre dreaming of RV life, already a digital nomad, or just here for the pet drama, join us for honest conversations, helpful hacks, and plenty of laughter.

Finding random pools of water in the camper can happen!
The kitchen sink faucet ended up leaking when we were dripping water on a cold night. Luckily, there was a trashcan to catch it!

Enjoy the scent of candles without the fear of an open flame in the camper with a candle warmer!

đ Planning for our grand adventure
Weâre planning our next big adventure and walking through how weâre thinking about it.
The big factors are cost, route, schedule, and a few real-world constraints.
Cost
- Estimating campground fees, fuel, and general travel costs. Itâs looking like $12â15k on paper, but realistically closer to $20k once surprises hit.
- State parks could be cheaper, but size limits, lack of hookups, and longer stays might make that impractical.
- We wonât have normal living expenses for 7â8 months (~$1,400/month), so overall it may balance out more than it seems.
Route
- Mapping a route that hits places we want to see without requiring multi-day driving stretches.
- Planning one big westward trip rather than multiple crossings, while avoiding moving every few days.
- Timing locations around weather so weâre not stuck in brutal heat at the wrong time.
Schedule
- Likely starting in April, with existing plans in Tennessee anchoring the beginning.
- Need to be back in Tybee Island by Thanksgiving, which sets the outer boundary.
- Goal is to stay at least a week per stop to keep things sustainable.
Other considerations
- Vyâs job situation.
- Whether our current camper is sufficient, even though the temptation to size up is real.
- Logistics like driving regulations across states and organizing everything.
- Yes, this is going in Trello (obvi)!
đ¶ Pet Drama Report
Levi has grown accustomed to a particular treat schedule and is now very opinionated about it.
â Random Question of the Week
What is the weirdest place youâve had a âThis is my life nowâ moment?
- Brittany: Recently whenever thawing out the sewer hose, or any time having to think about how the temperature outside will affect the camperâs pipes.
- Vy: Whenever using the commode, because that is a whole new and different experience.
